    Michael Gips has almost 25 years of experience as a writer, editor, publisher, attorney, and executive. He is currently the Vice President, Publishing, at ASIS International, which produces the award winning monthly Security Management. Gips previously served as ASIS’s Vice President, Strategic Operations from February 2007 to April 2013. In that role Gips launched the CSO Roundtable—the leading organization for security executives at the largest and most significant organizations from around the world—growing the membership to more than 370 security leaders from 30 countries. In his capacity as VP, Strategic Operations and VP, Publishing at ASIS, Gips has presented at dozens of programs in every continent except Africa and Antarctica. His presentations have covered a wide range of topics involving security, publishing, and membership organization management. In October in Atlanta, he presented twice at the largest security conference in the United States: once emceeing a simulated game show on the size and nature of the U.S. security industry, and once serving as a facilitator for a “fish bowl” panel presentation on mass notification during times of crisis. He earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Tufts University, with a double major in history and Spanish, attended the Universidad de Granada (Spain) on scholarship, and graduated with a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
