    Tammy Lytle has covered Washington politics, campaigns, Congress and general assignment stories for 25 years. Her award-winning Washington coverage included six presidential campaigns, impeachment, the 9-11 terrorist attacks, and two wars, along with the wacky side of news in the nation’s Capitol, from diaper-wearing astronauts to Cuban custody battles. From 1983, when she graduated from Indiana University with a degree in journalism, as well as Spanish honors, until 1997, she was a reporter for the New Haven Register, in New Haven, Hartford and then Washington. From 1997 until 2008, she worked for the Orlando Sentinel, as a correspondent, bureau chief and then chief Washington correspondent. Since July 2008, she has been a freelance writer, including for AARP Bulletin Magazine, HR Magazine Common Ground magazine, and many others and also edits, including for GAMA International Journal. She lives in suburban Virginia with her husband, twin grade-schoolers and dog. She is addicted to travel, expensive chocolate and the Chicago Cubs. She also served as president of the National Press Club and of the Regional Reporters Association. As president of the prestigious Press Club she moderated luncheon speeches by leaders in politics, business, entertainment and more. She has spoken extensively at professional functions, appeared live on CNN, CBS and C-SPAN and given a graduation speech to 5,000 people at the University of Central Florida.
